Horticulture Mission for North East and Himalayan States (HMNEH)

The Centrally Sponsored Scheme of HMNEH has been implemented since 2003–04 for holistic horticultural development through a cluster approach ensuring forward and backward linkages.

Per Drop More Crop (PMKSY)

Launched in 2011–12 to increase the area under micro-irrigation, improving agricultural growth and water efficiency through drip and sprinkler systems.

Paramparagat Krishi Vikas Yojana (PKVY)

Promotes sustainable organic farming by combining traditional knowledge and modern techniques to maintain long-term soil fertility.

Crop Insurance Scheme

Implements Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana to provide weather-based insurance coverage for 13 major horticultural crops.

PM Formalization of Micro Food Processing Enterprises (PM FME)

Encourages micro food industries with 35% subsidy (up to ₹10 lakh), empowering small entrepreneurs under the Aatm Nirbhar Bharat Abhiyan.

Operation Green (TOP to TOTAL)

Focuses on linking farmers to markets for Tomatoes, Onions, and Potatoes, stabilizing prices and minimizing post-harvest losses.

EXTERNAL AIDED PROJECT


External Aided Project (JICA)

A ₹251.71 crore horticulture project assisted by Japan International Co-operation Agency (JICA), covering Tehri, Uttarkashi, Nainital, and Pithoragarh.

Madhugram (Bee Keeping)

Cluster-based beekeeping program establishing “Madhugram” at each Nyay Panchayat for farmers, youth, and landless individuals.


STATE NEW SCHEMES


Mukhyamantri Ekikrat Bagwani Vikash Yojana

Launched during COVID-19 to assist reverse migrants through horticulture support, offering 50–60% subsidy on seeds, plants, and bio-pesticides.

Madhugram (Bee Keeping)

Beekeeping clusters established across the state to support farmers, youth, and landless individuals through honey production and income generation.
